BENEDETTO ROBINSON

Actor | Fight Choreographer | Action Performer I Playwright I Game Designer

"Robinson’s sharp script, which captures the flourish of Stoker’s writing, keeps the pace humming by reconfiguring some of the novel’s epistolary format into direct dialogue....  Robinson is a deliciously creepy Dracula, sporting blood-red eyes and an unctuous authority; he’s a villain of few words, which allows his dramatic physicality to project the full weight of his power."

-Rachel Garbus, Arts ATL

  Of Harmony and Entropy

An original, single-die tabletop RPG designed for intimate and realistic high stakes play in any setting.

A 12-level character progression system that does not lock out options behind experience levels or distant sections of play; a growth system that yields branches, but produces a fully formed and functional character at the outset who — importantly— does not become an immortal by the circuit’s end. It is entirely possible for a session one character to take on a 12th level enemy and emerge victorious, based on their approach and skillset.

A combat system conceived from an awareness of historical martial arts and theatrical combat, generated with the expeditiousness of a player’s turn in mind; a fight system with the aim of rooting a player more firmly in the action of the moment. It features detailed armor and weapons subsystems that highlight the qualities of individual weapons based on their real-world histories and applications, a cover subsystem to better manage engagements at range, and a wounds subsystem to more closely seat the action in a character-and-story forward headspace.

A gameplay ruleset based on the humble roll of the singular 20-sided die, yet one that offers diverse options for combat, deception, persuasion, athleticism, intuition, magic and more.

"Harmony and Entropy is a unique TTRPG, and a true stand out. I think of it as the "Dark Souls" of TTRPGs, with a focus on high stakes, realistic combat and injury mechanics, though still very much a vehicle for sincere, dramatic roleplay and social engagement. The magic system is unique, and while I have not yet played a magic-using character, I've witnessed such creative gameplay and decision making from those who have played magic-users, that I am anxious to give it a try. If you're looking for a TTRPG that allows you to live out heroic stories from a place of realism, this is the TTRPG for you!"
